On Saturday, from 8:30pm till 9:30pm, Oman will observe Earth Hour, according to the Environmental Society of Oman (ESO).
As part of Earth Hour, ESO has organised a variety of programmes at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa between 6pm and 10pm.
“The lights will be off for 60 minutes from 8:30pm on March 25,” the ESO said.
This is the seventh year that ESO has celebrated the campaign.
Earth Hour occurs once a year, and people are encouraged to turn their lights off for 60 minutes in the evening.
The idea is to show your commitment to the future of our planet – and it started as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia, in 2007.
Since then the event, led by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), has grown to include more than 7,000 towns and cities worldwide
