The UAE is participating in the 3rd meeting of the preparatory committee for the 13th "International Arab Mineral Resources Conference" in Rabat, Morocco, from 2nd to 4th March. The UAE is represented in the meeting by the geological expert "Khalid Al Hosani from the Ministry of Energy and member of the preparatory committee. The committee discussed technical work papers and arrangements for the 5th conference of Arab mining ministers in Marrakech next month. Hosted by the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization, the ministerial conference aims at exchanging knowledge and experience between Arab and foreign experts and Arab and international institutions working in the mining sector and activating the Arab-international cooperation in this field, under the slogan "Mineral Resources promising potential for sustainable development". The conference will also cover the investment opportunities in the mining sector in the Arab countries, geological mineral belts in the Arab world and potential capabilities, mining investment climate in the Arab countries, mineral resources as one of the alternative sources of energy, manufacturing of mineral ores, modern technology and its role in the exploration, extraction and processing of mineral ores in addition to international experiences in mining activity and its role in sustainable development. An exhibition will be staged on the sideline of the conference to display the latest technology and services of Arab and foreign mining industry.
