A Michigan woman said she discovered a boa constrictor living in her couch two months after she rescued it from a curbside. Holly Wright of Grand Rapids said she discovered the couch at the side of a road in the city's Heritage Hill neighborhood and moved it into her bedroom, where it remained for two months before she and her boyfriend discovered the non-venomous snake, WZZM-TV, Grand Rapids, reported Tuesday. "It's been living in the couch for like two months in my bedroom and I had no idea and it looks pretty big," Wright said. She said the couch did not seem suspicious until she discovered the snake. "We smelled it and everything -- it looked OK. We peeled off the cushions, cleaned it up, never saw anything," Wright said. Wright said she was going to take the snake to a vet, but it died shortly after emerging from the couch. "It was quite cold in the room, there was no food for the snake and I think it came out of the couch because it was dying," Wright said. "Funny, my room almost feels a little empty now. It's been really sad actually to realize all this time I was in proximity to that animal [that] was probably suffering." The report did not indicate the snake's length or approximate age.
