Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Ati returned on Friday to Cairo, after concluding a two-nation tour, where he discussed boosting cooperation with Tanzania and Kenya, as well as the progress made in some projects being carried out within the framework of strengthening relations with other Nile Basin countries.
Abdel Ati held talks with his Tanzanian counterpart and other ministers concerned with Nile water issue, as well as visiting the island of Zanzibar.
The Tanzanian government has requested Egypt's help in boosting the capabilities of technicians in Zanzibar.
In Kenya, Abdel Ati held a meeting with his Kenyan counterpart on joint cooperation in water fields.
The minister also visited Kenya's Bungoma district, where he met with its mayor who praised the Egyptian government's support for the Kenyan people through implementing projects in the water resources field to provide drinking water for dry and remote areas.
