Powerful Typhoon Lionrock is forecast to make landfall in Japan early next week, bringing heavy rainfall and damaging winds to a large part of the country, said Japan's weather agency on Saturday.
The typhoon, the 10th of the season, was moving east-northeast at 15 km per hour this weekend after hovering and gaining strength in the Pacific Ocean for several days, said the agency.
It is predicted to approach or make landfall in eastern Japan early next week with greater strength than the three previous typhoons in August, said the agency.
Typhoon Mindulle hit south of Tokyo earlier this week, damaging dozens of houses and causing one death.
