Head of the Media Production City Osama Heikal said that a power outage in the city on Saturday was caused by a failure in the circuits feeding it from the 6th of October city’s power plant, rather than an internal malfunction.
The power cut, which led to broadcast disruption, was redressed by the city's electricity generators as well as a branch line of Sheikh Zayed city, Heikal told MENA.
He added that Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker assigned a team of engineers to solve the problem.
A power cut hit the Media Production City, Mövenpick Hotel and the NileSat, leading channel broadcast to stop for 15 minutes.
