Egypt's Minister of Environment Khaled Fahmy held a meeting with French Environment Minister Marie-Ségolène Royal to discuss the issue of climate change and fields of cooperation between both countries.
The meeting tackled ways to provide a help to the French minister to realize her desired objectives in the region through negotiating with the UN and Africa to determine means of cooperation on the issues of climate change.
Germany, France and the World Bank have submitted three lists during the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN), the Egyptian minister said.
A workshop will be organized on March 15 for three days to discuss these lists, he added.
For her part, Royal said that she would work to receive all proposals submitted from various bodies to agree on clear policies to help in the issues of climate change and put a schedule for each project.
AMCEN plays an important role in supporting sustainable development in the regiond
