Muscat flights to and from Dubai have been delayed due to heavy fog at the Dubai International Airport.
A tweet from Dubai Airport authorities read, ‘operations at DXB have been disrupted due to fog this morning, check with your airline for flight updates.’
At the Muscat international Airport, Flydubai has three flights, scheduled from Muscat to Dubai, affected by the fog according to officials. Two flights are delayed and one cancelled considering weather conditions in Dubai.
“Flight FZ 042, scheduled to departure in the morning was delayed by five hours. Passengers from flight FZ 046 which was scheduled at 9:50am were transferred to the delayed FZ 042 flight. FZ 046 was cancelled,” said an official from the airline.
The official added that an afternoon flight has been delayed but evening flights are currently scheduled on time and the passengers will be taken care of with the most efficient manner depending on the situation.
Another carrier Emirates said that four flights were affected by the weather. All of the flights have been delayed and none are yet cancelled.
Airline officials expect delays to continue and are asking passengers to continuously monitor airline websites for updated flight information.
