Alexandria and different parts of the northern coast were hit by moderate rains on Monday but traffic was not disrupted.
Also, ship traffic in the ports of Alexandria and Dekheila continued normally, said acting Alexandria Port Chairman Fathi Taha.
Alexandria is now hit be a four-day rainy gale, accompanied by winds.
Executives bodies in the governorate have been cleaning and expanding drainage networks in preparations for the gale and to avoid what happened last time when heavy rains fell on the Mediterranean city.
Five people were killed, many in electrocution accidents, and streets were flooded when heavy rainwater poured over the city October 25, a situation that forced the resignation of Alexandria's governor Hani El-Messiry.
