Taiwan was hit by its second major storm after Typhoon Nesat battered the island with 112mph winds which left at least 111 people injured, The Daily Mail reported Monday.
Much of the island came to a standstill on Saturday after Nesat made landfall in the eastern county of Yilan, whipping up massive waves of over 49ft.
Following ٍSunday's storm, up to 23 inches of rain fell in the southern region of Pingtung, and strong winds caused the huge number of injuries.
Cars were written off on Sunday after trees were uprooted and fell down following the fierce storm in Taipei.
