Three elephants from a Canadian zoo have a new home in California thanks to a million-dollar gift from Bob Barker, former host of "The Price is Right." Barker personally greeted Iringa, Thika and Toka when they arrived in San Andreas, Calif., on Sunday, The Sacramento Bee reported. The elephants were transferred from the Toronto Zoo to the Performing Animals Welfare Society ARK 2000 refuge. "I had a lump in my throat, I had tears in my eyes. I've discovered that the older I get, the easier I cry," Barker said at a news conference Monday. "The ones that were crying the most were those miserable zoo keepers in Toronto." Ed Stewart, one of the founders of PAWS, said the group has taken elephants from the circus but the three from Toronto are its first zoo animals. Barker, a well-known animal rights activist, has been lobbying for years to move the elephants from Toronto and won a vote from the City Council there two years ago to send them to a warmer climate.
