Six-year old panda Lin Bing, the first panda born in Thailand, has given birth to twin cubs in southwest China's Sichuan Province, according to the Ya'an panda research center on Tuesday.
This was Lin Bing's first birth. Her two cubs, born on Monday afternoon, are both female and each weighed 200 grams.
Lin Bing was born in Chiang Mai Zoo in Thailand in 2009. Its parents lived there from 2003 until the family returned to China in 2013.
Lin Bing is been a household name in Thailand. An entourage of 276 people from Thailand escorted her back to her native home in Ya'an in September last year.
Lin Bing's first signs of estrus appeared in March. Staff at Ya'an artificially inseminated her to ensure success. Her pregnancy lasted 117 days.
