A 2-year-old giraffe named Jerezana died after being injured in a crash involving a truck and the convoy carrying the animal in Spain, police said. The giraffe was being transported from the southern city of Jerez to a Zoo in Valencia Saturday when a truck crashed into a convoy, The Local.es reported. A trailer carrying Jerezana was knocked over in the crash, police said. The trailer was lifted upright and it was taken to the zoo, where the giraffe died, officials said. Jerezana was being moved to the zoo to join a pack of giraffes living there.
