With the Ford Mustang GT California Special Package catering to the much more powerful 5.0-liter V8 version of the Mustang line-up, it was important for Ford to have a separate package attached to the base Mustang model, the 3.6-liter V6 version. This is where the V6 Pony Package comes in. As one of the two new special packages Ford has revealed for the 2013 line-up, the V6 Pony Package will see to it that your V6 Mustang gets some added exterior enhancements that would spice up the muscle car’s already smoldering looks. Ford has not released the full specs of details as far as what’s going to come with the V6 Pony Package, but we have been informed that some highlights will include a new chrome trim around the Mustang’s front grille and fog lights, a new rear spoiler, and a new set of 18" alloy wheels. And just like the California Special Package for the Mustang GT, the V6 Pony Package will most likely be an exclusive aesthetic enhancement program, leaving the Mustang’s 3.6-liter V6 engine untouched. That shouldn’t be all that problematic, especially if you know what you’re going to get with the V6 Pony Package. Besides, it’s not like the Mustang is a slouch without any engine modifications. It still packs an impressive 305 horsepower out of that V6 engine!
