Car ownership in China hits 100 million

The number of car owners in China has reached 100 million, a government report showed Wednesday, as the country sees exploding demand for automobiles fueled by a growing middle class. The Chinese Ministry of Public Security said in a statement that as of the end of August, 100.48 million vehicles were registered in the country.
