The successful business operation of Daimler AG in China once again indicates the fact that the pragmatic cooperation between China and Germany is reciprocally-beneficiary and a win-win deal, visiting Chinese top political advisor Jia Qinglin said Wednesday. Jia, chairman of the national committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks during his meeting with Dieter Zetsche, Chairman and CEO of Daimler AG, at its headquarters in Stuttgart on Wednesday. As the world's renowned automobile manufacturer, the Daimler AG has not only realized its own rapid growth, but also played an active role in advancing the development of the Chinese economy and automobile industry through consistent intensive cooperation with China, said Jia. Jia emphasized that the Sino-German cooperation in the field of automobile industry is a significant part of bilateral economic and trade cooperation. Noting that China has become one of the most rapidly growing overseas markets for Daimler-Benz automobiles so far, he said the cooperation between China and Germany in auto industry, in light of Germany's advanced technology and ample experiences in automobile manufacturing, has a very promising prospect. Zetsche said it was a special day for the Daimler AG to have the honor to welcome Jia's visit, and it will be a date for both sides to bring the bilateral cooperation with a very significant step forward. China and Germany boast increasingly tighter economic ties, as mutual exchanges and friendships keep on intensifying, said Zetsche, adding that China has become the locomotive of the world's economy at present and the second largest overseas market of Daimler AG. He expressed his belief that China will be sure to maintain long-term political and economic stability and development, and Daimler AG will be further dedicated to the expansion of investment in China, thus becoming a reliable strategic partner of cooperation with China and continuing to contribute to the development of the Sino-German friendly cooperation.
