The 2nd edition of the region’s biggest annual motoring extravaganza, Dubai Motor Festival (DMF) 2014, will be held from 19th November to 6th December under the theme ‘Passion on Wheels’, the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) announced yesterday.
The DMF 2014 will offer an electrifying motoring experience for residents and visitors in Dubai, as it brings to the city some of the biggest names in the world of motorsport along with a spectacular line-up of motoring events to further boost Dubai’s reputation as a year round family tourism destination.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the DMF forms part of the emirate’s strategy to use festivals and events as a means to drive tourism growth in line with Dubai’s Tourism Vision 2020.
Addressing the press conference, Laila Mohammed Suhail, CEO of DFRE, said, "Dubai Motor Festival is one of many citywide festivals that DFRE organises with the aim of diversifying Dubai’s portfolio of attractions, and to further enhance Dubai’s position as a world-class family tourism destination across the year, in addition to highlighting the robust and vibrant retail business of the motor industry in Dubai. This is especially so as the Emirate is considered a leading regional market, prompting many global brands and car manufacturers to establish their regional offices here in Dubai.
