Iran's largest automaker, Iran-Khodro Company (IKCO), announced on Saturday that it has produced 350,631 sets of cars in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year.IKCO's Vice-President for total production system Hossein Najjari noted the company's production rate in the first 6 months of the current year, and said, "Since the beginning of the year, IKCO has produced 74,857 units of Peugeot 206 in different types, 9,585 units of 207i, 66,733 units of Samands, 74,587 units of Peugeot 405 and 41,043 units of Peugeot Pars."Najjari also added that 49,451 Bardo pickups, 20,000 units of Roa, 12,108 units of Tondar, 90, 2,237 units of Suzuki Grand Vitara and 30 units of Runna have been manufacture during the said period.The Deputy CEO also announced that IKCO set a new daily production record on Sep. 25, 2011 by manufacturing 2,929 passenger cars. He finally added that IKCO has planned to boost its daily production to 3180 units of cars in the last few months of the year. IKCO is not just Iran's, but also the Middle-East's largest car manufacturer. It shoots for producing 860 thousand passenger cars, both for domestic and international markets in the current year.
