Motorcity, the sole distributor of Hino Motors in Bahrain, has unveiled Luxgen, a new Taiwanese automotive brand, comprising of the SUV and MPV. The event was attended by more than 150 invitees along with Luxgen and Motorcity’s top management, and members of the media. Vincent Tsao, vice president Luxgen Motor, said: “Throughout the history of automotive evolution, there has always been a fascination with breakthroughs in technology. Free from traditional thinking, the all new concept of an ‘intelligent vehicle’ from Luxgen has set new parameters in the automotive industry.” “The Luxgen brand name emerges from two prime elements -‘Luxury x Genius.’ Luxury is referring to details that transcend expectations and a spirit of service, providing people with an all-new experience of privilege. The Genius element is reflected in the approach to advanced technology application with human-centric designs,” he added. Dr Bijan Majidi, general manager of Motorcity Holdings said: “We are launching today Luxgen, a new brand that will distinguish itself in the marketplace, by offering, luxury, comfort, safety, combined to affordability and quality.” “We are introducing two 7 model ranges: SUV and MPV, both seven seaters, available in different trim versions. Both families are based on high performance turbo, low consumption technology engines and are programmed to ‘Think Ahead’ for their consumers, to preempt road conditions and potential hazards. “The vehicles are ideal for large families, commuters, hospitality and transport market segments, which require comfort, a touch of luxury, and most importantly, quality and low cost of ownership,” he added. The Luxgen Think+ offers a smarter computer with superior processing power. Created in partnership with the world-renowned IT company HTC, the comprehensive integrated automotive information platform Luxgen Think+, takes advantage of advances in intelligence and speed to create a vehicle that can truly think for it. The Luxgen7 SUV is a modern crossover SUV. On the exterior, it has the distinctive style of “mobile luxury” while maintaining the feel of a performance car and a large frame SUV. The 2.2L MEFI Turbo engine, equipped with electronically-controlled intelligent 4WD system, has a power output of 175hp and a torque of 28kgm. The wireless coded start up utilized in the Luxgen vehicles is the forerunner to future intelligent technologies. Fitted with the i-Key+, an intelligent chip key that enables you to use Push Start to depart effortlessly the opening and closing of doors is managed by remote control. The Luxgen 2.2L MEFI Turbo engine is tuned by Delphi and bolstered by a turbocharger from the world-renowned turbo experts at Garrett. It is not only a high horsepower (maximum 175hp/5200rpm) and high torque (maximum 28kgm/2500-4000rpm) engine; it is also highly dependable and achieves world-class standards in emissions and fuel economy. The Luxgen vehicles will be available through an introductory offer, wherein the Luxgen7 SUV is available starting from BD8,950 ($23,600) and Luxgen7 MPV starting from BD8,950 and both carry a 5 years/ 150,000 km warranty.
