The men who brought you hydropneumatic suspension, a charmingly doofy peasant's car and a corporate-bedazzled Eiffel Tower are offering you, the global citizen, a peek at their latest concept car. Called the Numéro 9, it heralds the future of Citroën's uplevel DS line. The sleek, Frankish, let's-play-pretend machine features a 295-hp plug-in hybrid powertrain that's good for 31 miles of all-electric motoring, and it will make its public debut at the Beijing motor show. In preparation for the launch of the DS line in China this year, the French automaker is using the shooting-brake-esque concept to preview three cars at once: new upmarket C- and D-segment sedans and a crossover, which, we imagine, was the rationale for the wagonoid styling. In the video above, you can watch a woman ache over a man with an estate car in a manner that Clark Griswold only ever fever-dreamt about. Peruse the photos and get as moony as you'd like; it's sadly still not going bring Gallic gorgeousness back stateside.
