The Leon Cup Racer will soon have the license for the race tracks of the world – the new customer sport race car from SEAT carries within it the brand’s intense motorsport DNA; it unites technical excellence with the will to win. The first SEAT customer sport teams are expected to enter with the new Leon Cup Racer at the start of the 2014 motorsport season. “SEAT is committed to customer motorsport – and the Leon Cup Racer is the answer”, says Dr. Matthias Rabe, Executive Vice President for Research and Development. This making-of video documents the creation of the Cup Racer in time-lapse photography – design, technology, aerodynamics, all the way to test driving. “The Leon Cup Racer represents a design that respects all SEAT brand and design values”, says Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos, Head of SEAT Design. Jaime Puig, Director of SEAT Sport, is convinced, “We have succeeded in making the new Leon much better than the old one, and now we will repeat this success on the race track.” The new Leon Cup Racer already gives a very clear indication of what a SEAT touring car racer might look like, prepared for a wide range of racing series worldwide. The 330 PS / 243 kW Leon Cup Racer forms the basis for the development work and test drives to be undertaken over the coming months. Source: seat-mediacenter
