Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled the all-new Genesis - a premium sedan that has been designed to set new standards in its class - for the first time in the Middle East and Africa. The all–new Genesis is the first Hyundai to feature the brand’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design concept, as well as significantly enhanced driving performance and state-of-the-art technologies such as a head-up display, smart trunk function and autonomous emergency braking. Unveiled at a gala ceremony at the five-star Marriott Marquis Hotel in Dubai, the all-new Genesis also comes with Hyundai's class-leading Premium Assurance Plus Program as standard, which includes a guaranteed buy-back value, free maintenance and 24/7 roadside assistance. Tom Lee, vice president and head of Hyundai Africa and Middle East Regional Headquarters, said: “The all-new Genesis will compete head-on with top-tier premium models in the Middle East and Africa and we are confident that it will set new standards in the sector for design and specification. The all-new Genesis features Hyundai’s most advanced technologies and has been subjected to relentless performance tests and undergone thorough quality checking.” The all-new Genesis was also developed with Hyundai’s ‘Modern Premium’ values in mind, and these are evident in every detail. Even greater emphasis has been placed on design identity with the new model embodying a trio of key design elements: fluid aesthetics, the modern Hyundai look and a premium touch. The sleek styling of the all-new Genesis recently received the internationally acclaimed Red Dot Product Design Award for 2014. The new nature-inspired ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0’ design philosophy focuses on the beauty of exquisite fluidic design, a unique concept which balances toughness and organic and sculptural softness. The exterior of the model also boasts the most aerodynamic design of any vehicle in its class. Inside the cabin the all-new Genesis is equally stylish, integrating fluid lines and a horizontal layout. Creating a premium image was the key objective throughout the design process and as a result real wood and aluminium trim have been applied to all parts that passengers touch. Multimedia entertainment includes high definition TFT displays that bring home-style image quality into the car. A 9.2-inch display provides the world's highest specification and premium DIS navigation. The model also offers a world first in-car CO2 sensor which automatically activates the ventilation system to reduce drowsiness. The all-new Genesis has been developed on a totally new platform, sharing no components with its predecessor. This platform uses even more advanced high-strength steel than before, and as a result it is stiffer in both tensional and bending rigidity. Middle East and Africa customers will be able to choose from two impressive engines, the award-winning Tau 5.0-liter GDI and a Lambda 3.8-liter GDI, each one designed for optimum low-end torque, responsiveness and fuel efficiency, and both mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with variable gear ratios. The all-new Genesis is available in five models; 3.8L Premium, 3.8L Prestige, 3.8L Platinum, 3.8L Royal and the 5.0L Royal with prices ranging from around $40,000 at entry level to $56,000 for the top-of-the-range model.
