One of the stars of this year's Easter Jeep Safari was the company's Mighty FC Concept, a modern recreation of the Jeep Forward Control, which was built from 1956 to 1965.Jeep started with a 2012 Wrangler Rubicon and repositioned the cabin over and ahead of the front axle. They then lightened the wheelbase, and added a custom built drop-side cargo box. The cargo area has a full-width, drop-side tray-style bed that's more than eight feet in length.Inside, Jeep used a snowboard bag, of all things, for the seat inserts and arm rests, helping to create a playful interior that belies its serious, austere facade.Motor Trend got the chance to check out the lumbering giant as the rock-ready concept went to the Moab Desert with head of Jeep design Mark Allen behind the wheel, aongside a 1964 Jeep Forward Control, which they also bombed around in for a spell.
