With the launch of the McLaren P1 and LaFerrari at the Geneva show back in March, even Lamborghini's outrageous Veneno rather struggled to attract attention. Keen to reclaim some hypercar kudos, Lamborghini has done what any self-respecting manufacturer would do when additional drama is required; chopped the roof off. Et voila, the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster. And this is a proper roadster too, with absolutely nothing in the way of weather protection. According to Lamborghini, this makes for an 'intense driving experience'. The Roadster is mechanically standard to the hardtop Veneno, using a 750hp versions of the Aventador's 6.5-litre V12. 62mph comes up in less than three seconds, and the 220mph top speed will most likely feel like 520mph with no roof. Unlike the coupe, it appears the Veneno Roadster will actually be offered for sale, rather than being flogged to selected customers and then exhibited. Nine will be available, as opposed to three coupes, each priced at £3.3m. Don't all rush at once now. Source: pistonheads
