Iran's largest carmaker, Iran-Khodro Company (IKCO), intends to present LX Runna by the end of September in a bid to update its products portfolio and adapt it to customers' preference. Mir Javad Soleimani, IKCO Vice-president in quality and product, said LX Runna meets Euro IV standard requirements and comes with more modern equipment and facilities in comparison with the ordinary Runna. The sedan also is compatible with European standards for passengers and pedestrian safety. IKCO aims to produce 30 to 40 thousand XL Runnas by the end of this Iranian calendar year, i.e. March 20, 2014. According to Soleimani, in the first phase, LX Runna would come with manual transmission, though IKCO intends to present the automatic one too. LX Runna is a green and eco-friendly sedan that follows Euro IV and 55 Iranian standards. The new sedan is powered by TU5, a 16 valve 1600cc engine that produces 105hp of power at 5800 rpm. A multi-point electronic injection system fuels the engine. It takes 12 seconds for the car to reach from zero to 100 and it can go as fast as 189 km/h. LX Runna sips 5.7 liters of fuel in 100 km in highways and its combined cycle fuel economy is 6.9 liters per 100 kilometers. Besides driver and front passenger airbags, Runna enjoys anti-lock braking system that brings about more safety for the driver and passengers. Immobilizer, front and tail fog lights and three point pre-tensioner seatbelts are other accessories the car comes with. The most important features of LX Runna that distinguish it from ordinary Runna are parking sensors, rear doors with speakers and power windows, new MFD instrument panel and wing mirror temp sensors.
