Riyadh - Arabstoday

AT A SPECIAL event held in Jeddah, Aljomaih Automotive Company (AAC), claimed to be the largest dealer for GM (General Motors) cars in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, launched the all-new Chevrolet mid-size pickup, Colorado 2013, in Saudi Arabia. After unveiling the new vehicle, the invitees were given the opportunity to test-drive it on a special track prepared for this purpose. The all-new Chevrolet pickup came as a result of five-year, $ 2 billion improvement program, and has the most sophisticated technologies ever. Its new chassis, cabin and basic mechanical systems are all newly developed and represent the most comprehensive improvement program ever adopted for a mid-size pickup in the 100-year history of Chevrolet. The production of Colorado is based on the new global engineering concept for medium-sized vehicles with rear-wheel drive adopted by GM, which is "body-on-frame." The all-new Colorado 2013 is available in two different classes - the basic model LS and the medium model LT, one and double cabin, and two fuel engines, in addition to many features and technologies. Colorado pickup 2013 comes in two engines of great fuel economy. The first is 2.4L engine with dual CAM that delivers 150 hp at 229 Nm maximum torque, and linked with 5-speed manual transmission, and very low fuel consumption ratio of 10.4L/100km. The other engine is 6V, 3.6 L with variable valves timing system (VVTS) that delivers 236 hp at 326Nm with 6-speed automatic transmission, and very low fuel consumption ratio of 11.5L/100km. Waleed Aljomaih, COO of AAC, said: "The all-new Colorado pickup is a true example of our commitment to offer products of an added value and meet our clients' aspirations. The pickup exceeds our customer's expectations and will offer them an enhanced sense of individuality. It will play a major role in increasing our sales in Saudi Arabia." From arabnews
