The Intermot International Motorcycle Show in Cologne opened its doors to the public today and, with Germany celebrating its national “Unity Day” holiday, the prestigious fair complex enjoyed a massive turn-out of enthusiastic visitors. At an equally packed press conference yesterday, Ducati presented the new-for-2013 Monster Anniversary as well as new Diavel colours and the stunning 1199 Panigale RS13 intended for next year’s World Superbike Championship, but the focus of the adventure-driven German public visiting the Ducati stand today was definitely the new Multistrada 1200 S Granturismo. The model attracted considerable interest in its long distance ergonomics and enhanced luggage capacity as well as design features like the pinch-and-slide adjustable screen and LED lighting. The innovative and comfort-enhancing Ducati Skyhook Suspension system and Ducati Safety Pack of latest generation ABS and traction control – as fitted to all 2013 S models – were also well received and look set to continue the Multistrada’s impressive success.
