Paris - Arabstoday

After two years in the making, the French carmaker will debut production version of its Furtive e-GT this week. Largely unknown French automaker Exagon has been working on the Furtive e-GT for the best part of two years, and the production model of the electric sports car will finally take a bow at the Geneva Motor Show this week.Powered by a pair of motors each providing an output of 125kW and developed by Siemens Corporate Technology, the total power output of the EV is equivalent to 340hp, while electric propulsion offers constant torque of 354lb-ft from 0 - 5000rpm.Exagon claim the car can sprint from standstill to 62mph in 3.6 seconds thanks to the "lightest and most compact engines available on the market" and hit a top speed of 178mph (although this has been electronically-limited to 155mph).A 2+2 coupe allows four people to travel relatively long distances; in electric only mode the car can travel between 122 and 250 miles (depending on average constant speed), while an optional range extender allows the Furtive e-GT to travel up to 501 miles.Exagon may be a small time car company, but they boast some powerful fans.At the 2010 Paris Motor Show, the French president demanded a private viewing of the then concept car. Doubtless Exagon will be hoping he gets his wallet out for the production model once it debuts at Geneva.
