Deputy Premier Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa today chaired the meeting of the ministerial committee for social services, the media, transport and the telecommunications affairs. The session discussed a memo the ministers of municipalities affairs and urban planning and labour to tackle the issue of labour camps in residential camps. The session was updated on the decision of the Cabinet to set up field working teams chaired by governors to survey random and dilapidated buildings which endanger their tenants' lives. The interior minister has also been assigned to form a legal committee in charge of legislations on regulating the leasing of private properties as labour camps. The session discussed the issue of telecommunications masts and assigned the ministry of telecommunications affairs to conduct a study and draw up terms and regulations, taking into account health and environmental considerations.
