Manama - Arabstoday

Bahrain's Gulf Air said on Monday it had regain control of its Facebook page after it was hacked that that the airline's official Facebook page is back after being hacked "for political purposes". "Gulf Air representatives are investigating the matter and are working with law enforcement agencies to prosecute those involved," a statement from the airline said. "A complaint has already been lodged with the Internet crimes division at the Ministry of Interior," it said. According to posts and photos on social media site Twitter, the hackers Social media posts claim that the carrier’s replaced the airline's logo with an image of jailed activist Abdulhadi al-Khawaja, who has been on a hunger strike for two months. The photo was later replaced by a yellow smiley face as the airline posted the message: "You can continue to communicate with us as usual and also receive new posts and updates about our latest products, services and offers." Earlier, Gulf Air had notified its customers and passengers that the Facebook page was hacked early on Monday morning.
