Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Shaikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah met here today with the Director of the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) Mohanned Suleiman and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting Kuwait at the invitation of KUNA. During the meeting, they reviewed the existing relations between the two news agencies and discussed ways of activating the cooperation agreement signed between them to exchange news, information, visits and expertise, highlighting the need to enhance coordination and collaboration between GCC news agencies, especially amid the developments the region is currently witnessing. In this regard, Shaikh Mubarak stressed the importance of continuing cooperation, consultation and coordination between GCC news agencies' officials so as to develop joint media work and achieve the aspired complementarity, adding that KUNA is interested in enhancing cooperation with GCC news agencies and media establishments in order to achieve the ultimate shared goals of a distinguished GCC media that capable of competing with international media. Following the meeting, BNA Director and his accompanying delegation toured KUNA's sections and departments and were informed about its equipment and the media services it provides. Mr. Suleiman hailed KUNA's technical, technological and media capabilities and the various media services it has adopted, affirming that it covers events through modern mechanisms and advanced means. He also stressed the importance of bolstering cooperation between GCC news agencies in order to be able to exchange expertise, ideas and success stories. Mr. Suleiman, who arrived in Kuwait last night, was accompanied by BNA's Head of the Photography Unit Daij Al-Darwish and Head of IT Department Ahmed Hassan Isa.
