Freedom of press and expression as well as the case of Tunisian journalists Sofien Chourabi and Nadhir Ktari were the focus of a meeting, Thursday, between President Béji Caid Essebsi and a delegation representing Arab unions led by president of the International Federation of Journalists (FIJ) Jim Boumelha,
FIJ president said he had discussed with Essebsi issues related to the consolidation of freedom of press and support to the National Union of Tunisian Journalists as well as the case of Chourabi and Ktari abducted last September in Libya, the Tunisian News Agency reported.
He added that Essebsi pledged to support freedom of press and freedom of expression as "a guarantor of these major achievements of the democratic process in Tunisia".
