President of Iran's state radio and television said Tuesday that Tehran emphasized on the model of clean media to attract maximum number of audiences.Addressing the sencond day of the 48th General Assembly of Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, which started here Monday, Seyyed Ezzatollah Zarghami, President of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) said: “All radio and television networks that operate worldwide, based on the global principles and values such as justice, peace, divine values and human rights should draw a line of balance in attracting the maximum number of audiences and creating minimum variance and dispersion among them.' 'We should rely on the model of clean media that is in congruity with human nature among different strata of the global community engaged in production of media programs,” Zarghami said. He added that relying on isolated points and overlooking the line of balance, was tantamount to broadcasting programs that run contrary to human nature and norms. “These kinds of programs which are replete with immoral content sow the seed of discord and have a tendency to seek religious, ethnic, and racial superiority,” Zarghami said while putting his perspective. He noted that insulting divine religions and prophets, relying on fake immoral distractions and direct or indirect propagation of belligerent thoughts that go against global peace including Islamophobic approaches, all violated the path among the line of balance. Pitching for the clean media, the Iranian official said that the IRIB’s main goal is to maintain the audience and sustain their trust and as well as ensuring their satisfaction concerning radio and television programs. “Bearing in mind the ethnic and cultural plurality in Iran, the IRIB strategic plan has emphasized on paying attention to all segments of society from all walks of life, ethnic, gender, age and difference educational groups,” Zarghami said. He added that emphasis has been put on respecting the cultural and ethnic diversity in the country to avoid any religious or social discrimination. Zarghami said that based on principles, the IRIB had 75 million audience inside Iran and tens of millions of audiences overseas. 'This turns IRIB into one of the largest radio and television organizations in the world,' said the official. A high powered delegation of the IRIB is attending the two-day general assembly, which was kicked off in New Delhi on Monday.
