Israel arrested 43 journalists, including two foreigners, in the occupied territories from October 2015 to April 2016, according to a report by a committee supporting Palestinian journalists.
In a report issued on Saturday coinciding with the Palestinian Prisoners' Day on April 17, the committee said Israel intensified arrest campaigns against Palestinian journalists to prevent them from covering the Quds intifada which broke out in October.
Four journalists were released in February and March.
The committee deplored the flagrant violations committed by Israel against journalists, especially the administrative detention without a crime or trial as well as torture.
The committee called for releasing journalists in Israeli jails and allowing them to do their job.
