Salem Military Court Tuesday requested once again an extension in the detention of cartoonist Mohammad Sabaaneh, said the Palestinian Prisoner’s Club (PPC) in a press release. Jawad Boulus, head of the legal unit at PPC, said that even though the court was supposed to announce its decision today, it requested to extend Sabaaneh’s detention again, in order to decide whether it will present an indictment or not. The military prosecution was given until next Thursday to reach a decision, something the PCC’s lawyer opposed since there is no evidence that Sabaaneh committed any offense. The army arrested Sabaaneh, a cartoonist with the local daily al-Hayat al-Jadida, on February 16 upon his return to the West Bank from Jordan.
