The Executive Office of the Journalists Union launched Wednesday the Journalists for Golan Network. The Network aims at introducing the history and culture of the occupied Syrian Golan and its belonging to the homeland. Chairman of the Journalists Union, Ilyas Murad, said at the launching of the Network that its launching came in response to the calls of the Syrians and particularly the journalists among them whose main national preoccupation is the Syrian Golan Heights . Murad added that the Network is to have its data base, executive council, independent budget. The Network is also to take part in all activities related to the Cause of the Golan with all of its aspects including those related to the Israeli brutal measures in the occupied Golan, its exploitation of its resources, and to the Golan heritage, folklore, struggle and its inside-Israeli-Jails freedom fighters and Resistance against the Israeli occupation. Yesterday, Murad said that about 40 journalists joined the network, adding that the official inauguration of the network will be held at a later time in al-Quneitra city.
