KUNA Director General and Chairman Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah discussed cooperation with the visiting Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Yemen's SABA news agency Tareq Al-Shami on Monday. The discussions surrounded means for cooperation between the two news agencies on the exchange of news, expertise and visits. The agency chiefs also discussed the impact of Arab media on the wider outside world. Sheikh Mubarak applauded the healthy relationship between the two bodies, pointing out in particular to their joint agreement for the exchange of information, news, photographs and staff training. For his part, the Yemeni senior editor noted that KUNA plays an important role in supporting Arab media, considering it "a leading news organization in the Arab world, known for its objectivity and transparency." The discussions were attended by KUNA's Editor-in-Chief Rashid Al-Rowaishid and its Director of International Relations Isam Al-Rowayyih along with SABA's Director General of the Office of the Chairman Mouath Bejash, Director of the Programming and Internet Department Abdullatif Al-Komani and Deputy Chairman for E-Journalism Tawfiq Al-Qodsi. The talks were followed with a tour of the KUNA main office and a briefing on the progress it has been witnessing in recent years.
