An official of the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the deadly terrorist attack on the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris earlier Wednesday.
"This despicable, heinous and criminal act runs counter to the true values of noble Islam, which advocate peace and tolerance," the source said.
"There are taboos in Islamic teachings against killing or terrorizing innocent people," he added, noting that the perpetrators of the deadly attack are "a group of misled criminal insurgents who use Islam as a pretext for justifying their cowardly acts." The official expressed condolences for the French government, people and families of the victims, wishing those wounded to recover soon.
The shooting attack has reportedly left 12 deaths and eight wounded.
