Acting Information Undersecretary in Kuwait Faisal al Mutlaqqem on Saturday praised great achievements of Saudi Arabia during the reign of late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, among which boosting role of media institutions and revolutionize media in general.
Saudi Arabia has witnessed a great media openness as well as a growing number of mass communication graduates, al Mutlaqqem said.
He added that the deceased realized the important role of media in development, while the country witnessed an increase in TV channels, specialized magazines and newspapers, and e-papers.
Mutlaqqem said women were also active in media either in newspapers, radio and TV as well as working as university professors.
