Qatar News Agency (QNA) is organizing during the new fiscal year (April 2012- April 2013) a variety of specialized training courses in the field of media, aiming at improving the skills of the Qatari cadres working in this developing domain. The courses this year cover all different areas of press, including the written press, radio and television, as well as other courses related to information strategies in terms of planning and implementation. For the first time, QNA will give the opportunity for GCC citizens to participate in a selected number of courses covering an important aspect of media topics of interest to the GCC, in indication to its belief in its role in the GCC and its commitment to training GCC cadres under the umbrella of the GCC General Secretariat in order to achieve the objectives of the exchange of expertise and experience. QNA courses will start on July 9 by holding a three-day course on the issuance of electronic journals, followed by another three-day course on editing children news on September 24. In October, QNA will organize a training course on the press of women, children and people with special needs for the employees of Qatar Foundation for Education, Sciences and Community Development and other concerned institutions for four days. Also in October, the news agency will hold the second edition of the journalistic translation course followed by a course on designing media sites on the Internet and the dissemination of credible information. A three-day training course on photography will start on December 3, followed by the third edition of the journalistic translation course on December 21. In February 2013, QNA will hold a three-day course on the arts of interviewing and the skills of dealing with senior figures. Also in February, the agency will hold a specialized course of facilitate the exchange of information between media institutions, followed by a three-day course on the planning and management of media organizations on March 25.
