The Social Media Club, in co-operation with Zain Bahrain, is set to hold its first conference under the theme of “Think Social” and will be the biggest ever social media event to be held in 2011. Twenty four leading international speakers representing major social media, technology and telecommunications companies will take part in the event. It will be an occasion for reviewing the success stories of the local companies and organizations in this field. The event, which comprises a number of presentations, workshops and discussion sessions, will be held for a whole day on Saturday 26th November, 2011 at Elite Hotel, Muharraq. “Zain Bahrain is proud to sponsor this first of its kind event in the Arabian Gulf. Zain Bahrain is known for its keen interest in supporting the community to take advantage of the social media development round the world,” Samya Hussein, Zain Bahrain Corporate Communications Manager, said. “The Conference is a unique initiative of its kind offered by the SMC to the Bahrain community for the benefit of young entrepreneurs in addition to workers in the media and public relations as well as people concerned with the social media in the region,” Adel Maymoon, board member of the Social Media Club, Bahrain Chapter and Chairman of the Conference’s Organizing Committee said. EM “The Think Social theme has been selected to demonstrate this year’s theme, as it is necessary to review the best expertise in this field for time and cost effectiveness and in order to keep abreast of the technological developments across the world,” he added. The SMC Conference 2011 aims at educating and training of young entrepreneurs and individuals concerned with the social media basics, uses of various social media websites (such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, MSN, and such other social media channels), planning media campaigns through the social media, exchange of expertise and best practices in this area, explaining social media concepts, ethics and educating the community about the significance and uses of the social media. “The Bahrain SMC Chapter is part of the international SMC that brings together specialists in social media and marketing. The Bahrain Chapter leadership council consists of professionals in the communications field and electronic media who are experienced and proficient in the social media and electronic marketing in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It holds monthly meetings and events for all community groups to educate them about the social media, information technology, and telecommunications in addition to spreading the culture about the optimum use of the social media for the benefit of the community,” Ali Sabkar, Social Media Club Bahrain Chapter Chairman said.
