Prime Minister, Wael al-Halqi said that all mass media have to enjoy transparency, objectivity and credibility in covering the current events in Syria. "Democratic track in Syria is old and deeply-rooted and we seek to develop it and achieve the aspirations of the Syrian people in the judicial, administrative, social and economic reforms," al-Halqi added during a meeting with a German media delegation. He considered that the misleading media is one of the main arms of the universal war on the Syrian people, appreciating the European and international media which seek reality and convey the events in Syria with credibility. Al-Halqi pointed out to the western unfair economic siege on the Syrian people, adding "the government exerts huge efforts to provide the basic needs for all citizens." The German journalists affirmed that there is a distorted image to what is really taking place is Syria, adding that what they have seen here in the country "was the reality represented by the cooperation among the army, people and the leadership in confronting the armed groups."
