Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, has been appointed as Chairman of the National Media Council.The position was previously held by Sheikh Hamdan Bin MubarakAl Nahyan, Minister of Public Works. The decision was made during a Cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace chaired by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, were present. Sheikh Mohammad praised the efforts exerted by Shaikh Hamdan when he served as chairman of the council, and wished Sheikh Abdullah all the best in his new post. The Cabinet also approved during its meeting the e-Federal Government Plan for 2014. As per the plan, governmental bodies will have to implement a comprehensive e-transformation in a period of two years. The plan aims to facilitate the completion of governmental applications and procedures, as well as increasing the UAE's competitiveness in the field of e-services.
