An unknown gang attacked the head offices of Egypt's al-Watan newspaper on Saturday after it published reports of a meeting between the Muslim Brotherhood and ultras in Cairo. Al-Watan's offices were ravaged by fire after suspects threw Molotov cocktails inside the building. Security forces managed to contain the fire and there were no casualties. Preliminary investigations found the ground and first floors were both badly burnt. Internet servers were also damaged. Staff members have reported 10 men storming the office, claiming they were members of al-Ahly's ultras. The Egyptian newspaper has apologised for publishing the story, after ultras leaders denied the Brotherhood meeting ever taking place. Tensions are high in Egypt this weekend after prosecutors confirmed an earlier verdict to convict 21 men to death for their alleged role in the 2012 Port Said football massacre, involving al-Ahly and Masry fans.
