His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received at Al-Seif Palace on Monday a delegation from Iraq Journalists Syndicate (IJS), now on a visit to Kuwait. During the meeting, attended by Kuwait Minister of Information and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, HH the Prime Minister highlighted the role of the media people in cementing the bilateral ties and serving the common interests of both countries. "The media role surpasses that of the military in ensuring better future for the coming generations," HH Sheikh Jaber told his guests. "The State of Kuwait and the Republic of Iraq have a lot in common in terms of religion and culture; so we have to work together to overcome the challenges of the past, and ensure better future and comprehensive development our two nations," he stressed. HH Sheikh Jaber said he looks forward to his coming visit to Iraq to exchange views with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki on a range of important issues and strengthen the bilateral ties in all fields. He voiced hope for opening new channels of cooperation between the private sectors of both countries, noting that such cooperation is the mainstay of economic development. On his part, IJS Chairman Mo'ayed Allami, head of the delegation, conveyed to HH Sheikh Jaber the greetings of Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki. "The Iraqi government and people hold in high esteem HH the Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for the great stride he made in cementing the bilateral ties, notably his historic visit to Baghdad in late last March. We also pin high hopes on the coming visit of HH Sheikh Jaber," Allami said. The IJS chief expressed gratitude for the hospitality he and his delegation received during their visit to Kuwait. The meeting was also attended by Chairman of Kuwait Journalist Association (KJA) Ahmed Yousef Behbehani and Treasurer Adnan Khalifa Al Rashed, as well as Assistant Undersecretary of HH the Prime Minister's Diwan Sheikh Khalid Mohammad Al-Khalid Al-Sabah
