Saudi Arabia expressed surprise towards French newspaper Charlie Hebdo's continued mockery of Islam and Prophet Muhammad, official media reported Wednesday.
"The Kingdom does not find any justification for such deliberate abuse against Islam, which provokes feelings of billion and half billion Muslims around the world," a foreign ministry official said in a statement, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
While confirming its constant anti-terrorism stand, Riyadh expressed understanding and respect of security measures taken by the French government to preserve France's national unity, the statement noted.
"Based on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's refusal of all forms and manifestations of terrorism, whatever its motives or those who stand behind it, in addition to the Kingdom's denunciation and condemnation of the heinous terrorist attack on the French magazine 'Charlie Hebdo' which resulted in killing many people," it said.
The statement also said that Saudi Arabia was keen on participating in the march of solidarity against terrorism in Paris as part of international solidarity to confront terrorism, which is rejected by Islam and principles and legislations of all international laws.
