Communication Minister Hamid Grine underlined Monday in Algiers his commitment to solving the broadcasting issues in Algeria for a better broadcasting of radio programmes at the national and territorial levels.
“After my last visit to Bechar, I have noticed a lot of deficiencies in broadcasting. The radios of the bordering countries broadcast in our country while our programmes can’t exceed the borders,” said Grine after a working meeting at Algeria’s television broadcasting company (TDA).
He underlined the need to review the national broadcasting plan at the national and territorial levels to solve the issues faced by the broadcasting within two or three years.
During this period, the number of transmitters, which is at present 500, will be backed up by 1800 other transmitters, said the minister.
He said that Algeria’s voice should be “powerful” and heard abroad, particularly, in neighbouring countries, through sound programmes, underlining that it will strengthen the Algerian diplomacy and national policy and will contribute to highlighting Algeria’s heritage and cultural assets.
