Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has urged its customers, particularly commercial consumers, to complete their transactions using its website or smart app. From 1 April 2015, commercial customers will be able to avail some of DEWA's key services through its website or smart app only. These services are move-in, final bill request, updating customer information, and customer enquiries.
MD & CEO of DEWA, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, urged DEWA customers in general, and commercial consumers in particular, to avail of DEWA'S electronic and smart services to save their time and effort. DEWA's smart transformation, he said, is a continuation of its electronic development to achieve customer satisfaction and happiness by providing our services round the clock. We encourage our customers to use DEWA's e-services and download its Smart App.
In addition to saving customers' time and effort, electronic and smart services help save the environment. DEWA has used its smart services to promote sustainable development. It is the first government organisation to highlight the impact of using smart services on the environment. DEWA's customers conducted 3.3 million transactions in 2013 through its website and smart app. This helped eliminate the emission of 11,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide that could have resulted from customers travelling to and from DEWA offices.
DEWA's smart services meet the expectations and needs of all customer segments. The smart app provides services to all segments of society such as customers, consultants, suppliers, job seekers and government organisations. Recently, DEWA launched a service where RTA, Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, and Civil Defence can send their remarks about any faults in DEWA's locations through the smart app.
DEWA's app can be downloaded from its mobile website (mobile.dewa.gov.ae) or the major web stores. All DEWA's services are available through its app, which supports iOS and Android platforms for mobile phones, and its feature on its dewa.gov.ae website. It can also be used on other platforms, such as BlackBerry, Windows, Windows Phone, smart watches, Samsung home applications and Etisalat's eLife.
"Through the smart transformation of our services, DEWA contributes to shaping a better future for all, reflecting the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. These efforts are in alignment with the Dubai Plan 2021 to promote Dubai as a smart, integrated, and connected city, creating an infrastructure that supports the economic and social life of Dubai as a city that matches world-class levels. It also promotes using resources sustainably over the long term, in line with international best practice levels in terms of consumption, efficiency, and management," said Al Tayer.
