The Smart Government programme at the Ministry of Interior has launched a new design for the ministry's UAE MOI application available in the Google Play Store for Android compatible smart phones, and announced a series of successive updates to the application's new design as of January 2016.
Lt. Colonel Faisal Mohammed Al Shimmari, Executive Director of the MoI's Smart Government programme, explained that this step personifies the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Interior to develop smart interactive free services via mobile phones to cater to the needs of smart phone users.
He explained that the application contains a package of smart services and provides easy browsing with enhanced display properties for people with special needs, so as to improve the user experience and enable everyone to complete transactions in just three steps.
Available services include renewal of vehicle registration, which can be completed through the app and keeping a copy of the e-registration on the mobile phone, in addition to various services for police, civil defence, and naturalisation and residency sectors, such as passport renewal service and visa issuance for public and private sectors, and individuals.
