The Municipal Council will offer new online services for individuals and companies as part of the new plans to facilitate procedures for obtaining permits, said an official here Sunday. Speaking to KUNA, Assistant Director General at the Municipal Council Ahmad Al-Manfohi said that the new online services were being introduced in line with a ministerial decree issued by Minister of Communications and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Issa Al-Kanderi. A committee was established to oversee implementation of the decree, said Al-Manfohi who added that the new online services will include issuing and renewal of health permits for individuals working at food retailers as well as permits for commercial advertisement. He added that the new online services will include building permits as well; however, individuals or companies may need to be present at the municipality to obtain the forms and documents. Al-Manfohi noted that each permit would contain a barcode that would enable inspectors to track-down the validity of the papers. On another front, the official said the municipality is working on a new service that would offer information about the availability of commercial establishments for rent and other important data. Al-Manfohi said that the details of how to benefit from the new services, especially acquiring and renewing of health permits, will be announced soon in a press conference
